Senate GOP Advances ICE, Border Patrol Funding Plan

The Senate Republicans have passed a budget blueprint for the next year, allowing them to proceed with funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Protection. Most of the Republican Party supported the measure, but two key Republicans, including Sen. John McCain and Sen. Michael Gallagher, opposed the plan, arguing that it strengthens border enforcement. The proposal also sets aside over $70 billion in early funding.
