Record heat, fire danger Thursday before dramatic cold front arrives Friday

The combination of heat, low humidity, and gusty winds is expected to cause rapid spread of wildfires across the area. A Red Flag warning has been issued for most of the viewing area, with relative humidity expected to drop as low as 4%. A strong cold front is expected Friday, bringing advisory-level winds and significant heat. The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory from 1 a.m. to 7 p.m., with widespread winds of 30-40 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected.
