State tennis: Academy sweeps A-4A titles as Farmington sends Pat McGrath off on top

Albuquerque Academy has swept the 2026 state tennis team championships, with the Chargers girls winning their 15th blue trophy, this time without their legendary coach Amy Badger. The team overcame an early doubles deficit to beat No. 2 Española Valley 5-3, marking their seventh-straight A-4A title. The Chargers came back to win after trailing 2-1 following three doubles matches against a strong Sundevil team. In the boys bracket, Farmington defeated No. 6 Santa Fe High 5-1 to send Pat McGrath off on top. In other events, second-seeded La Cueva beat No 4 Albuquerque High for its seventh consecutive title.
