Anthony Mondo, a veteran bass angler, caught a 4-pound crappie on Chickamauga Lake, surprising veteran anglers. The huge black crappi weighed 3.94 pounds and was 19 inches long and 15.5 inches in girth. Mondo was fishing with a small Rapala Mooch Minnow swimbait during the Heartland Anglers bass tournament. He and his partner, Conner Plass, came second in the tournament but the crappee's discovery made it all the talk at the weigh-in. Monde kept the crazzie alive in his livewell until he could have it weighed on a certified scale the following day.
