A 56-year-old Mexican tourist visiting the Hotel Xcaret Mexico outside Playa del Carmen died after fainting in the property's pool, according to local reports. Hotel staff were alerted to a health incident after the guest was found floating in the pool. An ambulance transported him to a local hospital where he died. The cause of death has not yet been determined. The hotel is part of the XcareT ecotourism development in the Riviera Maya along the Caribbean coastline and has its own internal security and medical care protocols for its hotel and recreational properties.
