A study by Florida Atlantic University has found that augmented reality (AR) can significantly enhance training for employees with intellectual or developmental disabilities, significantly increasing productivity. The study used AR systems as high-tech job coaches and found that when using AR tools, the average task accuracy soared to 93 percent and some workers hit 100 percent. The researchers found that using AR allows people with these disabilities to work more independently, making employers' resources more flexible. The research also highlighted the potential for employers to accelerate job training for people with intellectual disabilities.
