Animoca Brands chairman, Yat Siu, has stated that the future of virtual economies will arrive through fleets of AI agents transacting across blockchain networks behind the scenes, rather than through immersive virtual worlds. He argued that AI systems may operate in the background of everyday life, handling tasks such as bookings, payments, scheduling, and online transactions on behalf of users. This shift could solve one of crypto's biggest challenges: onboarding ordinary users. While an estimated 700 million to 800 million people globally own some form of cryptocurrency, fewer than 70 million actively use blockchain applications.
