Vandals target trail made for Newcastle boy killed in blast

The "Forever 7" trail is set to be completed next month to commemorate what would have been Archie's ninth birthday. However, anti-social behaviour has escalated since January, with around £6,000 worth of damage being done around the Parish Ponds. A memorial bench dedicated to Archie has been damaged by a disposable barbecue, and wooden gates have been ripped off and set alight in a bonfire. The victim's mother, Katherine Errington, has urged the perpetrators to respect the area and allow it to become a place where families from across Tyneside can enjoy spending time together.
