Marta Suarez and Flau’jae Johnson made their professional debuts in the Valkyries-Storm draft trade. Suarez scored her first basket in Golden State's 78-76 victory over the Seattle Storm. Johnson, a former LSU star, started for Seattle and scored 12 points on 5 of 10 shooting. Despite the trade and public relations fallout afterwards, both players expressed excitement about the success of their new teams. The Valkyry Vournries open the regular season on May 8 in Seattle.
