Tom Hanks celebrated the launch of NASA's historic Artemis II mission, the first crewed lunar mission in over 50 years. The 10-day mission will be led by American astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, and Christina Koch, and may take them further than humanity has ever traveled. The Orion CM-003 Integrity, named by the Artemis II crew, is on a free-return trajectory and will loop the moon and return to Earth purely using gravitational forces without additional propulsion. Hanks has a special connection to the mission and its crew.
