Shawn Hatosy, the actor for The Pitt, has directed his first episode of the show and is currently in Toronto filming the FX limited series Cry Wolf alongside Olivia Colman, Brie Larson, showrunner Sarah Treem (The Affair), and director Anne Sewitsky. He initially balked at the idea of Abbott serving as part of a SWAT team, but quickly changed his mind once the creators explained the idea. Hatosys also noted a shift in casting directors following the show's success. He also commented on the growing popularity of The Pitt among fans.
