Three historic bronze plaques were stolen from the former Hardin County Courthouse in Elizabethtown between March 18 and 24. The stolen items include a courthouse dedication from 1933 and two plaques from 1955 honoring Presidents Abraham Lincoln and James Buchanan. The theft was not reported until the end of the month. Elizabethtown police are asking the public to help get them back. The plaques are more than just metal, they are a part of the city’s history and make an impact on the county, the commonwealth, and the nation.
