Brooklyn Correction Officer Indicted For Sexual Abuse Of Inmate And Lying To Federal Agents

A former corrections officer at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, James Johnson, has been indicted for sexually abusing an inmate and lying to federal agents about the incidents. Prosecutors allege that Johnson abused an inmate named "John Doe" during at least two incidents in May 2025. He allegedly ordered the inmate out of his assigned unit and moved him to other locations inside the facility. Additionally, DNA evidence from the inmate's prison jumpsuit links Johnson to the alleged assaults.
