Beau Buzbee, the father of slain teen Hailey, is pushing for a new Indiana law named Hailey's Law, named after his daughter, to protect teens and children from predators online. The proposed law would allow for families and authorities to act in the most critical hours of the day, a gap that can be missed by an Amber Alert or an Indiana Silver Alert. It also includes mandatory online safety education in schools and higher penalties for first-offense groomers. Hailey went missing in January after communicating with a 39-year-old Ohio man she met online and was later found dead in Ohio. A suspect has been arrested and charged in connection with Hailey’s disappearance, but no charges have been filed in relation to her death.
