Japanese director Shinya Tsukamoto has released the first images and details for his English-language debut, Mr. Nelson, Did You Kill People? starring Rodney Hicks and Geoffrey Rush. The film is about late African American Vietnam War veteran Allen Nelson who returned from the conflict with severe PTSD and crossed paths with Dr. Daniels from the Veterans Affairs. Tatyana Ali plays Nelson’s wife and Mark Merphy plays the young Nelson in flashbacks. The production and distribution company Kino Films is behind the successful Conclave in 2025, which won the best international box office for Oscar-nominated drama in 2025 with a $7.87 million gross. The announcement is timed with the National Vietnam War Day on March 29.
