AJ Dybantsa drops 40 to lift BYU past K-State

BYU has defeated Kansas State 105-91 in the first round of the Big 12 tournament in Kansas City, Mo. AJ Dybantsa scored 40 points, while Kennard Davis Jr. contributed 15 points in the second half. The 10th-seeded BYU will face 7-seed West Virginia in the next round. The victory comes as K-State shifts focus on its coaching search after its midseason dismissal of Jerome Tang. The Cougars turned a tight game into a rout, taking a 12-0 run that capped the game with a dunk by Khadim Mboup and a 3-0 lead at the 5:32 mark. Alongside his 40-point performance, Dybantantsa also contributed nine rebounds and six assists for the Cougars.
