Rueben Bain, a former Miami defensive end and projected first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, was named as the driver in a 2024 crash that left one of his car's passengers, Destiny Betts, dead. The car was also carrying Miami teammates Wesley Bissainthe and Nyjalik Kelly. The incident occurred just months after Bain's freshman season with the Hurricanes. The charge was later dropped. It is unclear if this incident will impact Bain's participation in the draft.
