'Significant change' needed to tackle agri pollution

The agri-food industry has become dependent on imported animal feed and fertiliser, which leads to agricultural run-off and contributes to algal blooms in Lough Neagh. The report warns that while revising the NAP regulations is a challenge, it will exacerbate challenges for the next generation of farmers. It also suggests that civil and criminal sanctions should be available to regulators based on the severity of each case.
