The revelation was made in a video posted by Jaden Warren at the Thompson San Antonio Riverwalk by Hyatt hotel. Warren argued that the minibar menu was partially hidden behind the luxury items, making it less obvious that the products were for sale. Travel expert Lee Abbamonte warned that this practice is becoming more common. Other industry experts, including Sarah Dandashy, agreed that context matters and that hotels are operating under significant financial pressure. They also warned that hidden or unclear fees could deter travelers from staying at hotels indefinitely.
