Raiders reportedly will honor non-binding free-agent deals

The Oakland Raiders have been criticized for spending too much on free-agent deals, with defensive end Maxx Crosby's $30 million compensation package for 2026 still on the books. The team could potentially back out of any, some, or all deals done with players such as center Tyler Linderbaum, cornerback Eric Stokes, receiver Jalen Nailor, edge rushers Kwity Paye and Malcolm Koonce, and linebackers Quay Walker and Nakobe Dean. The Raiders have the right to restructure Crosby's 2026 compensation to reduce the cap hit, but the money will be paid from a predetermined cash budget. However, new players will need to pass a physical to prove their eligibility.
