Italy’s Uffizi hit by cyberattack, jewels moved to Bank of Italy, Corriere reports

Florence's Uffizi Galleries was hit by a serious cyberattack earlier in the year, leading to the transfer of valuable jewels to the Bank of Italy. The hackers reportedly gained access to servers of the Galleries, Palazzo Pitti and the Boboli Gardens. The most valuable items from the Treasury of the Grand Dukes were moved to the central bank as a precaution, while some doors and emergency exits were sealed. The attackers also reportedly stole the full digital archive of the photographic department.
