Gov. Gavin Newsom of California has a long record of absenteeism, focusing on international photo-ops, Davos, and elite summits abroad while California faces challenges such as homeless encampments, high gas prices, refinery closures, and insurance companies fleeing the state. His new book, Young Man in a Hurry: A Memoir of Discovery, suggests that he sprints towards bigger stages while the job he signed up for is neglected. Since taking office in 2019, Newsom has made numerous international trips, including trips to destinations such as El Salvador, China, Brazil, Italy, DavOS, Munich, Nashville, Atlanta, Rock Hill, and Miami. Despite promises of 3.5 million homes by 2025, California's public schools are in free fall and less than a third of K-12 students are proficient in reading and math. His reckless green energy policies have led to high gas and electricity prices and high dependence on foreign oil. His mismanagement of EDD fraud, including lockdowns, has resulted in job losses and high taxes, high costs, and high drama.
