The primary election in Illinois saw a mixed performance for special interest groups, with more than $50 million spent on various races across the state to influence voters. While gaming companies and tech giants saw mixed returns, a fund backed by billionaire Gov. JB Pritzker won big. The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) saw some of its biggest investments in the state pay off, including $1.4 million for Jesse Jackson Jr. in the 2nd Congressional District and $1 million for Melissa Bean in the 8th. However, Making Our Tomorrow, a committee backed by Facebook's parent company Meta, saw a disappointing performance, backing four state legislative races worth $750,000.
