All in the family: Father and son excel in world of Kyokushin Karate

Christian Buffaloe, a top Kyokushin fighter and a teacher, is ranked 34th in the country and is expected to be the US men's champion in 2020 and 2023. His father, Kenny, received a Governor's Award in 1982 for introducing the sport to North Carolina. The sport is one of the toughest in the world, with a winner only determined when their opponent is knocked out.
