Canada's ICON Creative Studio has signed a deal with Chilean novelist Isabel Allende to adapt her short story, "Dos Palabras," as an animated short film. This marks the first time Allende has granted screen adaptation rights to the work. Pilar Flynn, Rafael Agustin, and Allende will direct and serve as executive producers and co-writer. The story, written in the style of magical realism, follows a woman who sells words so potent that they influence a powerful man's quest for the presidency. The animated short, which translates as “Two Words.” is produced by ICON, which is known as Canada's largest independently owned animation studio.
