‘These People Are So Stupid’: Live Nation Ticketing Directors Bragged About Charging High Fees in Slack Messages

Live Nation has settled with the Department of Justice (D.C. and several states) to end federal antitrust claims, but the company remains under scrutiny following a series of internal Slack messages between Ben Baker and Jeff Weinhold, two regional ticketing directors at Live Nation, who were responsible for the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre and Jiffy Lube Live amphitheater respectively. The messages, which were unsealed on the court docket, boasted about charging high parking fees and claimed Live Nation had grossed more than $666,000 on premier parking in 2021. Despite the settlement, many of the state attorneys general who sued alongside the federal government have not signed on to the settlements.
