A 1-year-old Argentine boy, Dante Valentín Bermudes Rumi, died after choking on a fake nail during a diaper change. His mother, Aylin Saucedo, attempted to remove the partially clipped acrylic nail from his mouth when he began to swallow it. Despite efforts to save him, Dante died at Grand Bourg Trauma Hospital. An autopsy report found that Dante's death was caused by asphyxiation due to airway obstruction. Following her son's death, Saucede alleged that Dante’s father blamed her for the incident and attempted to prevent her from attending his funeral. The San Martín Justice system is investigating the toddler's death but no suspects have been identified.
