The Atlanta Falcons are planning a quarterback competition with Michael Penix Jr. Following the signing of Tua Tagovailoa to the team, general manager Ian Cunningham stated that the plan is for him to compete with Penix, who is recovering from an ACL tear and hopes to return before the start of the 2026 season. Both players were informed of the team's plans before the signing. The Falcons have also added wide receivers Olamide Zaccheaus and Jahan Dotson and tight end Austin Hooper to bolster their offense.
