Texas candy store chain, Lammes Candies, is set to close its doors for good after 141 years of business. Six of the seven branches of the chain are closing, with the final branch in Austin, Texas, remaining open until it runs out of product. The company confirmed the closure was due to "unprecedented economic pressures" and online sales will continue. The historic chain, known for its handcrafted treats, has been owned by its owners since 1885 and its bestseller is the Texas Chewie Pecan Praline. The decision to close was not an easy decision for the company, which has been described as a family legacy spanning generations.
