Chris Sununu has expressed hope that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) shutdown, affecting the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), will end by April. This comes after President Trump replaced DHS Secretary Kristi Noem with Mark Wayne Mullin due to scrutiny over her handling of immigration enforcement operations. However, Democrats have refused to fund Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), a DHS sub-agency, without significant reforms. The standstill has impacted airports nationwide, increased wait times and left TSA workers without pay.
