Lubbock City Council sets June date for District 4 special election

The City of Lubbock has scheduled a special election in June for the District 4 city council seat, following Councilman Brayden Rose's resignation citing family reasons. Early voting will occur from June 15 to June 23, 2026. The filing period for the special election begins March 24 and closes on April 27. Candidates must be a U.S. citizen, a resident of L.topia, 18 years of age or older, and a registered voter. They must not have a substantial interest in any public utility operating within the city, nor be in the employ of someone having a substantial interests in any other public utility.
