The Williamsburg-James City County school system is looking at increasing career and technical training opportunities for its students. The division hosted a screening of "Multiple Choice," a documentary highlighting the importance of both academic and career training in schools. Superintendent Daniel Keever hopes to bring a dedicated career/technical education center to Warhill High School within five to six years. While the division currently offers career technical education courses and partners with a regional education center, Keever aims to broaden the options for students to find a path after graduation. While currently partners with New Horizons Regional Education Center, there are limitations that students face due to the competition surrounding the center. A center is in the school’s capital improvement plan for fiscal years 2030 and 2031, with the first year focusing on design and the second on construction costing $12.6 million.
