The CBS 17 Storm Team has declared a Weather Alert Day for Monday due to a potential severe thunderstorm outbreak in central North Carolina and the Mid-Atlantic. The SPC has upgraded much of the region to a Moderate Risk (Level 4 out of 5) for severe thunderstorms. The atmosphere is expected to favor strong to severe storms, with damaging winds as the top threat. Additionally, isolated strong tornadoes and large hail are also on the table. Despite this, temperatures will remain mild throughout the week, returning to the upper 60s by Friday.
