The WNBA and its players’ union have reached a verbal agreement on a new collective bargaining agreement. The agreement is expected to significantly increase player salaries, with a good chance for million dollar players, a first for the league entering its 30th season that would increase salary fourfold from last season. Specific details still need to be finalized over the next few weeks as lawyers work on the new CBA. The deal will need approval from the players and the league’s Board of Governors before it can be voted on by the players. This agreement comes after eight days of intense in-person negotiations between the two sides.
