Austin ISD has been able to accommodate the majority of transfer requests for families affected by consolidation. According to preliminary data, 92% of families who completed a transition survey have had students placed in their first-choice school. The district also revealed that 61% of those who completed the survey have already registered for the coming school year at AISD. Superintendent Matias Segura acknowledged difficulties in the process, particularly in families who do not speak English as a first language. He emphasized the need for more support and resources available for families. The transfer portal for Austin ISD is open through April 10 and help will be available at the district's headquarters and helpline.
