The London Marathon broke the record for the highest number of participants in a marathon, with 59,830 participants. This surpasses the record set at the New York City event last year. The record was broken by Kenyan runner, Sabastian Sawe, and Ethiopia's Yomif Kejelcha. In the women's race, three women ran under two hours in a single time.
