indie singer-songwriter Mitski has begun a five-night residency at Hollywood High in Los Angeles, starting with a sold-out crowd of 1,900 fans in the auditorium at the school. The auditorium is also set to host a high school production of Into The Woods next month. Hollywood High has served as a shooting location for several films and TV shows, including The Optimist, Nancy Drew, Made, and Penn & Teller: Bullish. Mitski's booking agent Wilson Zheng, Mitski’s booking agent, confirmed that Hollywood High was the only school they had in mind, with other potential venues including Hollywood Forever Cemetery. The shows were only possible due to spring break and the rest of LAUSD is currently on the premises.
