Man Who Dumped Puppy Outside Mission Viejo Shelter Gate ID'd, Authorities Say

The owner of the puppy was identified as a man seen in surveillance footage leaving the animal outside a Mission Viejo shelter. The incident occurred around 3.25 a.m. Friday and occurred in an area known for its notorious reputation for coyotes. The puppy is now being evaluated at a nearby animal urgent care facility and is doing well. The act of abandoning a defenseless puppy is considered a violation of the law.
