The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has withdrawn a public health alert for Walmart's frozen, ready-to-eat dinosaur-shaped nuggets after additional testing revealed no elevated levels of lead in the product. The alert was issued based on New York State Department of Public Health routine surveillance sampling that indicated elevated trace levels in 29-oz. bags of Great Value Fully Cooked Dino Shaped Chicken Breast Nuggets with a best if used by Feb 10, 2027. Additional testing revealed that the initial test result was a false positive, caused by sporadic lead contamination at the laboratory during analysis, not contamination of the product itself. The manufacturer, Dorada Foods, said they were participating in the public health Alert "out of an abundance of caution" and cooperating fully with the USDA in its investigation.
