RAM prices are soaring. Framework may not survive it

US-based system builder, Framework, has been hit hard by rising RAM prices, with RAM DIMM being 500 percent more expensive than a year ago. The company, which is a darling of the tech press and a favorite among right-to-repair enthusiasts, has had to adjust its prices as its supply dwindles due to shortages. Despite this, Framework's CEO Nirav Patel has warned that personal computing as we know it is dead due to the relentless pursuit of profit in the “AI” bubble. He also promised that Framework will continue to build hardware that enables computing. However, this is not a blockbuster for Framework and other hardware manufacturers cannot rely on this.
