Mercer Labs' newest room, "The Engine," is designed to slow perception and destabilize orientation. The installation is part of the museum's ongoing exhibition, "Maestros and the Machines," which combines robotics, responsive environments and 4D sound into interactive rooms. The room is set to open on April 24 and features a continuous, large-format screen that covers the space in shifting landscapes. The experience is described as a "reset" within the exhibition, which recalves the sensory overload and reintegrates the rest of the show.
