Anthropic: No "kill switch" for AI in classified settings

Anthropic has stated that it has no way to control or shut down its AI models once they're deployed by the Pentagon. The Pentagon has labelled Anthropic a supply chain risk, arguing that it is inappropriately involved in its technology's use in sensitive military operations. The company's usage policies include no use for autonomous weapons or mass surveillance. A federal appeals court in D.C. has rejected a request for a halt on the supply chain threat, allowing Anthropic to participate in new Pentagon contracts while the litigation continues.
