Bay Area temperatures to keep inching higher amid winter heat wave

A heat wave is set to continue throughout the Bay Area, with temperatures expected to rise by two to three degrees in the hottest spots. However, a change in the zonal flow of the air and low pressure in the upper atmosphere are expected to change the pattern, allowing cool air to arrive. Temperatures will remain 5 to 10 degrees above seasonal norms. A heat advisory remains in effect until 8 p.m.
