A man was caught on surveillance video stealing envelopes from a mailbox at an apartment complex in West Miami-Dade, Florida. The residents had been dealing with a mail bandit for three months, prompting them to hire someone to install cameras. The video shows the man entering the parking lot of the complex and attempting to open the mailbox multiple times before stealing the contents. The apartment complex called Henry Lorie to install the cameras, which he called an invasion of privacy. The crime is believed to be a federal offense. The victim has filed a police report with the Miami-dade Sheriff’s Office and hopes the thief is caught and held accountable.
