Powerful winds have left tens of thousands of Northeast Ohio residents without power due to a surge in power following the weekend's severe weather event. Over 76,000 customers across seven Northeast Ohio counties, Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina and Summit, were still without power as of early Saturday morning. The largest number of outages was in Cuyhoga County, where more than 47,000 people remained without power. FirstEnergy is working to restore power across its service territory and restoration estimates will be available later Saturday night. The National Weather Service predicts another round of gusty winds could impact Northeast Ohio on Sunday, potentially complicating restoration efforts.
