Costco has promised a refund on any tariffs it paid to the US government to its members if it receives such a ruling. This follows Costco's recent lawsuit against the President Donald Trump administration over tariffs placed on imported goods. The Supreme Court recently overturned the tariffs, ruling that they exceeded the powers of Congress. Costco CEO Ron Vachris stated that if there is a refund, Costco would return the money to members. However, uncertainty remains over any potential refunds due to the Supreme Court decision. A survey from KPMG found only 18% of respondents would fully reverse price hikes resulting from tariffs, and 34% would use temporary promotional pricing.
