Police are investigating an attempted carjacking in the Walpole Mall parking lot. The incident occurred when two young women were eating a late night snack when two men forced their way into the car. The victims, who were so frightened they fled the scene, were eventually alerted to the police. The victim's mother stated that the incident may have been different if not for the large suitcase in the backseat and the girls' instinct to flee was crucial. No one was hurt and no items were taken, but the car was left running in the parking lot after the incident.
