Ka’mardre Coleman, a 16-year-old football star from Sheepshead Bay, was killed in a shooting that police believe may have been accidental. The shooting occurred outside a NYCHA building when another teen was handling a gun when it went off. Police have arrested a 16 year old boy and charged him with manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, and criminal possession of a firearm. Julani Bannister, Coleman's sister, said her brother was not just her sibling but her best friend. She also dismissed suggestions that her brother might have been involved in the wrong crowd.
