A bill passed by the Oklahoma House has passed allowing Oklahomans to add their driver’s license to their phone's digital wallet under House Bill 3015. The bill would allow Service Oklahoma to partner with businesses to issue mobile or digital versions of state identification cards, driver's licenses or permits. The measure would not replace physical licenses or state IDs and would allow Oklahomanans to maintain their physical credentials with the mobile version as a "companion option." The bill also limits how companies that partner with the state can use the private data of Oklahanans. The Transportation Security Administration lists over a dozen states that offer some form of digital ID accepted by at least 250 checkpoints. The digital ID must be based on a Real ID-compliant driver”s license or identification card.
