Gophers track All-American Charles Godfred, a two-time defending Big Ten champion in the long jump and a two time first-team All-America All-Ohioan, is a Top 10 nationally in three events. He recently created a new event at the Minnesota Open indoor meet, the sprint/leap/lookout improv dash. Godfred currently ranks No. 3 in the NCAA in that event and No. 9 in the 100 meters. He also is a member of the 4 x 100-meter relay team that owns the second-fastest time in the nation. The Gophers track and field star, who owns the school record in long jump, has expressed his desire to represent Nigeria and has expressed a desire to raise the Nigerian flag and represent his country.
